ICC suspends Zimbabwe Cricket for neglecting to keep govt obstruction under control



The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday suspended Zimbabwe Cricket over an inability to keep the game free from government obstruction.

"As an outcome of suspension, ICC financing to Zimbabwe Cricket will be solidified and agent groups from Zimbabwe won't be permitted to take an interest in any ICC occasions," the ICC said in an announcement.

ICC executive Shashank Manohar stated: "We don't take the choice to suspend a part daintily however we should keep our game free from political obstruction.

"What has occurred in Zimbabwe is a genuine break of the ICC constitution and we can't enable it to proceed with unchecked.

"The ICC needs cricket to proceed in Zimbabwe as per the ICC constitution."
